Love After Hours #D056,
is a classic 50’s dress of black silk,
perfect for the office or a night on
the town. Circa 1957. Its deceptively simple
lines conceal the superb tailoring details
that make this outfit exceptional. The
fitted, short-sleeved bodice is lined in
shimmering pink organza. Four pleated inset
panels let the full skirt swirl and billow
with feminine grace. An extra 3” gathered
layer adds fullness to the pink organza
crinoline. Accessories include a painted
fan, silk flowers “pearl” necklace and
earrings, evening gloves, hose and matching
lace-up shoes. Designed by renowned N.Y.
artist Tim Kennedy.

Secret Sleuth #1835,
a black crepe sheath, topped by a
short black and white plaid woven
wool cape. A yellow scarf and gloves bring a
splash of color. Includes beret, purse,
earrings, sling backs and hose. The costume
for Secret Sleuth was based on the authentic
design provided courtesy of Valentino’s in
Hollywood, California.

Cognac Evening #4602,
a classic faux two-piece cocktail dress made
of tobacco
iridescent taffeta, circa 1951. The
short-sleeved, collarless bodice features a
peplum at the waist. The narrow skirt is
provocatively slit in the front. A beaded
side panel made of the same taffeta cascades
from the left hip, adding movement to the
dress. Topping everything off is a unique
feathered cap-style hat with a brown
metallic organza bow at the back. Included
are Gene’s matching purse, decorated with
amber beads, amber earrings and matching
necklace. Black opera-length gloves, and
ribbon cloth-covered shoes in matching
brown. Designed by Jose Ferrand.

Picnic in the Country, #929,
is a breezy summer-sweet day dress. Circa
1946. The sleeveless dress features a fitted
bodice in a red and white gingham check with
a pleated panel, boat collar and white silk
lining. The dress extends into an attached
box pleat skirt of white waffle cotton blend
fabric and a ¼” checked trim at the hem. The
matching bolero jacket is fully lined and
features red and white gingham check piping
and a band and tie. Accessories include a
matching “band” style hat, shoes, hose a
bracelet pin, earrings and hat accented with
“cherry” bead jewelry. Designed by
renowned fashion artist Lynne Day.

featuring a middy halter top with sailor
collar, matching wide-legged pants with
nautical button detailing, and loose-fitting

from 1998, Oriental-style pajamas are of
figured and plain silk with navy satin
accents. Complete with “coin” earrings, tiny
chopsticks and golden sandals. Circa 1946.

Love’s Ghost #FO5608,
Gene plays a Victorian governess in one of
her most mysteriously romantic film roles.
The blouse is white lawn and fastens with
hooks and eyes down the front. Matching
skirt has a separate net slip. With flowered
cummerbund, matching straw hat, hose white
shoes, “pearl” earrings and hair ribbon.

Blue Evening #I02888,
Sleekly strapless, the deep blue satin dress
features the “princess” tailoring
that is fashion’s new standard of elegance.
The gown is simple in its lines, but where
that is detail it really counts. At the
heart-shaped décolletage, a hint of deep
pink fabric boldly sets of the bosom against
the blue of the gown.
A self fabric bow is the only other
adornment, except for the important jeweled
brooch and an ethereal, pink chiffon wrap.

circa 1997, handcrafted costume, the
ultimate dancer’s dress, suggesting sensuous
movement even when perfectly still. It is
tailored of multi-layered coral chiffon with
exotic beaded accents at a draped bosom and
a dramatic attached stole. Golden hoop
earrings and bracelet add the finishing
Latin touch. With matching shoes, hose,
